About Simply Beautiful Space
Simply Beautiful Space (SBS) creates beautiful, functional homes through professional organizing, light styling of organized spaces, and packing and unpacking services. We combine thoughtful systems with a refined aesthetic to make everyday life feel easier for our clients.
As our team grows, we are looking for an experienced organizer who can take ownership of projects, guide a team, and deliver the personal attention and polished results that define the SBS experience.
The Role
As Lead Home Organizer, you’ll lead on-site sessions while working hands-on alongside the client and/or a team. You’ll translate the project plan into clear priorities, monitor progress, and help clients feel supported throughout the process.
Working closely with the SBS owner, you’ll be guided on how to prepare for sessions, discuss products and supplies needed for each project, and communicate project updates. This role requires strong organizing skills, thoughtful decision-making, and the ability to keep both the details and the overall project moving forward.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Preparation
- Review the project scope, client priorities, and timeline, and discuss the direction for each session with the SBS owner beforehand.
- Discuss organizing systems, identify product needs, and coordinate shopping approvals, supplies, and product transportation directly with the SBS owner.
- Arrive prepared with a clear plan for the day.
- Lead organizing projects in closets, kitchens, pantries, bathrooms, garages, and whole-home spaces.
- Guide clients through sorting and decluttering decisions with patience, sensitivity, and respect.
- Execute spaces from start to finish, including categorizing, space planning, product placement, labeling, and finishing touches. Commit to the full project schedule through completion—for example, a garage project may require availability for two to three days within one week.
- Serve as the membership lead for assigned SBS membership clients, providing continuity and ongoing maintenance of their organizing systems. Each assigned membership client includes one guaranteed day of work per month.
- Support packing, unpacking, and move-in projects as needed.
- Create practical, visually cohesive systems tailored to each client’s routines, preferences, and home.
- Assist with light product assembly and leave work areas clean and orderly.
- When leading a team, serve as the project’s on-site lead and maintain direct communication with the client throughout the project. In collaboration with the SBS owner, consider each organizer’s strengths, assign responsibilities accordingly, and manage the team’s work to keep the project running smoothly.
- Organize alongside the team while providing clear direction and constructive guidance.
- Monitor progress, adjust assignments, and manage time to meet session goals.
- Review completed spaces for functionality, consistency, and presentation.
- Keep the client and SBS owner informed of progress, challenges, product needs, and client requests.
- Seek approval for changes to project scope, additional spending, or decisions outside the agreed plan.
Client Experience & Communication
- Serve as the on-site point of contact during assigned sessions.
- Represent SBS with warmth, professionalism, and discretion.
- Maintain client confidentiality and treat homes and belongings with care.
- Walk clients through completed spaces and explain how to maintain their new systems.
- Take before-and-after photos of each day’s work, following SBS's client permission and privacy procedures, and share timely updates so the owner can follow the project’s progress.
- Send the SBS owner an end-of-day recap outlining completed work, outstanding tasks, product needs, and next steps.
- Keep session notes and project documentation current using SBS’s designated tools.
Qualifications
- At least one year of professional home organizing experience required; two or more years preferred.
- Experience leading a team, coordinating projects, or guiding other organizers strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to independently complete organizing projects with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and an eye for styling, proportion, and visual consistency.
- Ability to delegate clearly, prioritize tasks, and adapt when project needs change.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working with different personalities.
- A calm, resourceful approach to problem-solving and client decision-making.
- Willingness to learn and follow SBS's organizing methods, processes, and presentation standards.
- Receptiveness to feedback and a commitment to continued improvement.
- Comfortable using a smartphone, email, scheduling tools, and project management apps.
- Reliable transportation to project locations throughout the South Bay and surrounding Los Angeles areas.
- Ability to lift and move items up to 25-30 pounds and perform active work involving standing, bending, reaching, and using step stools.
Experience with home styling, wardrobe styling, packing, unpacking, move coordination, and/or luxury residential services is a plus.
Schedule & Availability
- Preferred availability of three days per week, with occasional weekend projects.
- Organizing sessions typically last approximately six hours; project needs may vary.
- Ability to commit to the agreed project schedule, including multiple sessions within the same week when needed for completion.
- Availability for agreed-upon preparation, shopping, donation drop-off, trash disposal, and follow-up responsibilities for each session.
- This is a project-based position. Hours vary with client bookings and are not guaranteed, except for the monthly work associated with assigned membership clients.
What We Offer
- $25 - $30 per hour + mileage reimbursement.
- Training and direct support from the SBS owner.
- A positive, collaborative team that values quality, communication, and respect.
- Opportunities to contribute ideas and grow with the company.
- Meaningful work helping clients feel more settled and comfortable in their homes.
- A variety of organizing, light styling, and move-related projects.
- Recurring monthly work through assigned membership clients.
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in the details, supports the people around them, and follows through from the first sort to the final reveal.
