Job summary

Seacoast Pathology Inc in Exeter, NH is seeking a histology professional to embed and prepare slides for H&E and special stains, and to support patient care with accurate lab results.

The role requires CAHEA/NAACLS-accredited Histotechnology training with HT (ASCP) and at least 1 year of high-complexity testing experience. Certification by ASCP or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a CAHEA/NAACLS-accredited Histotechnology program with HT (ASCP) certification.
• At least 1 year of lab training or experience performing high complexity testing.
• Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Embed and prepare slides for routine H&E and special stain procedures.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and document it.
• Troubleshoot processing, embedding, cutting, and staining as needed.
• Work in a fast-paced laboratory with biological and chemical hazards.
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control.

Education

In this role, you will:

• Perform a vital part of the patient care process through embedding and preparing slides for routine H & E and special stain procedures

• Performs and documents scheduled preventative maintenance

• Recognize when troubleshooting is needed for processing, embedding, cutting, staining

• Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards

• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control

All you need is:

• At minimum graduation from a school of Histotechnology accredited by CAHEA/NAACLS AND HT (ASCP)

• 1 year of laboratory training or experience performing high complexity testing

• Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent

Bonus points if you’ve got:

• 2+ years of laboratory training or experience in a high volume laboratory with documented special stain and immunohistochemistry experience
