Job summary

Aurora Diagnostics LLC in Salem, Oregon, seeks a histology technician to perform embedding, cutting, and slide preparation using routine H&E, immunohistochemical, and special staining procedures. 6 months histology experience and HT/HTL certification preferred; position includes on-site work.

You will maintain instruments, troubleshoot processing steps, and work safely in a lab with biological and chemical hazards. This is a full-time role with benefits.

Qualifications

• 6 months of histology laboratory experience (embedding, cutting, etc.)
• HT/HTL certification or graduation from a school of Histotechnology may be accepted in lieu of experience
• Strong reading, writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to safely operate general laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform embedding, cutting via microtome, and prepare slides with routine H&E, immunohistochemical and special staining procedures.
• Perform and document scheduled instrument maintenance.

Hours: 4:30 am to 1:00 pm

Days: Monday - Friday; rotating paid on-call for Friday evenings/Saturday mornings.

In This Role, You Will

All You Need Is

• 6 months of histology laboratory experience* (embedding, cutting, etc.)
• *HT/HTL certification or graduation from a school of Histotechnology may be accepted in lieu of experience requirement.
• Strong reading, writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to safely operate general laboratory equipment.

Bonus Points If You’ve Got

• ASCP HT/HTL certification or a graduate from a school of Histotechnology accredited by CAHEA/NAACLS.
• Documented special stain and immunohistochemistry experience.
