Job summary

DCSAM is seeking a Lead Highway Technician to oversee day-to-day maintenance and repair of roadways and related infrastructure. The role includes supervising crews, ensuring safety standards, and coordinating with customers on site in Florida.

Responsibilities cover traffic control setup, pothole repair, vegetation management, and sign/lighting maintenance. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of supervisory experience, a valid driver’s license, and MOT certification.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of clean driving.
• Must have your own reliable transportation.
• Must have infrastructure maintenance experience.
• Must have at least 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
• Advanced mot certification is required.
• Must be comfortable working alongside the highway or median beside fast-moving traffic.
• Must be able to travel away from home periodically.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates and promotes a positive safety culture by requiring full compliance of the project team members and subcontractors to adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Creates safe Maintenance of Traffic control by setup and removal of traffic control devices including cones, message/arrow boards, temporary signage, etc.
• Maintains and repairs highways and other surfaces including potholes, striping, adding, or replacing reflectors, delineators, working with concrete and asphalt.
• Maintains clean appearance of highways and medians through litter and debris removal and disposal.
• Repairs/maintains functionality of slopes, berms, culverts, drains, etc.
• Controls vegetation appearance and growth through lawn mowing equipment and related tools.
• Maintains the appearance and functionality of signs, guardrails, fence, and lighting through repair and/or replacement.
