Job summary

TeachIowa Atlantic Comm School District is seeking a Head Varsity Softball Coach at Atlantic High School to lead the softball program. You will instruct student-athletes in fundamentals, strategies, and conditioning while fostering character, academics, sportsmanship, and teamwork.

You will plan workouts, manage game operations, mentor staff, supervise budgets and equipment, and monitor academic progress to ensure eligibility.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years coaching experience at high school varsity or equivalent.
• Must possess Iowa coaching certification or be willing to obtain it.
• Strong leadership and communication with student-athletes, staff, and parents.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and conduct daily practice sessions focused on skill instruction and conditioning.
• Manage the team during home and away games, including lineups and strategy.
• Mentor assistant coaches and coordinate schedules with the Athletic Director.
• Oversee program budget, inventories, fundraising, and equipment safety.
• Monitor student-athlete academics and enforce code of conduct and eligibility.
