Job summary

Atlantic High School in Atlantic, IA is seeking a Head Boys Golf Coach to lead the boys golf program. You will teach fundamentals, promote teamwork and sportsmanship, and create a positive, safe team environment for student-athletes.

Responsibilities include supervising practices and matches, managing travel, rosters and equipment, and coordinating with the Activities Director to support scheduling and team needs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of golf rules, etiquette, and instruction, including IHSAA standards.
• Experience coaching at school or club level preferred.
• Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes.
• Completion of Iowa coaching certifications as required.

Job Description

Atlantic HS has an opening for Head Boys Golf Coach. The ideal candidate will have the ability to teach golf fundamentals, support student-athletes during practices and matches, promote sportansmanship and teamwork, and help create a positive and safe team environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and oversee the boys golf program.
• Team the fundamentals, rules, etiquette, course management and competitive strategy for the game of golf.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, matches, travel and other team activities.
• Work with the Activities Director on scheduling, transportation, rosters, equipment and other team needs.
• Follow all school, conference and IHSAA rules and expectations.
• Communicate clearly with players, parents, adminstration and media.
• Promote the sport of golf in the school and community.
• Represent Atlantic HS in a professional and appropriate manner.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the rules, etiqueete and instruction of the sport of golf, including those set forth by the IHSAA.
• Prior coaching experience preferred.
• Ability to create positive relationships with the student-athletes.
• Completion of all required certification for coaching in the State of Iowa.
