Job summary

Curtiss-Wright, at the Peerless Instrument facility in East Farmingdale, NY, seeks an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead a creative team of engineers. The role focuses on precision VPX circuit cards and firmware design assurance, reporting to the Director of Engineering.

You will guide multi-disciplinary teams in design, testing and integration, ensuring on-time delivery while maintaining budget and quality standards. A strong leadership track and DoD clearance readiness are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of leadership or management experience.
• Minimum 10 years in electrical engineering design, development and test.
• Experience leading a team in circuit card development with firmware/software integration.
• Proven ability to coach, mentor and drive quality designs.
• Expertise in power electronics, circuit design and firmware.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
• Experience with VHDL/Verilog FPGA design and DSP.
• Experience with GIT, SourceTree and Jira in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of engineers with guidance, mentorship and support for quality designs.
• Oversee performance evaluations, promotions and compensation within the department.
• Supervise design, development, testing and deployment of high-precision VPX circuit cards and design assurance firmware on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with other disciplines for architecture, implementation and integration of FPGA/SoC DSP processing.
• Provide discipline-level inputs to proposals and project plans.
• Evaluate and deploy tools to improve efficiency in electrical and firmware design.
