Job summary

Curtiss-Wright in Farmingdale, NY is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the digital and mixed-signal design of our VPX-style embedded computing cards, from concept through production.

You will own complex schematic capture, PCB layout, signal integrity, and manufacturing transition, mentoring others and collaborating with mechanical engineering, vendors, and program teams to deliver reliable high-performance electronics.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with 10+ years of circuit board design experience.
• Must be a US citizen and able to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance.
• Experience designing digital and mixed-signal circuits for embedded systems in high-reliability environments.
• Proficiency with schematic capture, PCB layout and routing software.
• Hands-on interfacing DSP, FPGA, Flash and RAM; strong debugging and test case development skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead digital and mixed-signal schematic capture and board design for embedded VPX products.
• Oversee PCB layout, high-speed routing, signal integrity and thermal considerations.
• Coordinate design packages for manufacturing transition and tooling.
• Mentor junior engineers and review designs with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineering.
• Prepare customer reports, specifications and source control drawings.
