Job summary

Air Methods is seeking an experienced flight operations professional to ensure safe, compliant medical transport. You will conduct pre-flight checks, walk-arounds, and sign-off on logs, maintaining high standards for airworthiness and safety.

The role requires extensive flight hours, CAT-rated qualifications, and the ability to lead a medical flight team in a fast-paced environment while coordinating with maintenance and medical staff.

Qualifications

• Must hold FAA medical certificate (First or Second Class).
• Instrument rating for category and class of aircraft.
• ATP rating in category meets this requirement.
• Fixed wing multiengine rating required for twin-engine aircraft.
• Commercial single-engine land for single-engine aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner.
• Verify airworthiness before every flight through pre-flight checks and Daily Flight Log sign-off.
• Perform complete aircraft walk-arounds before entering the cockpit and after each flight.
• Exercise final authority over aircraft operations and safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment.
• Maintain familiarity with aircraft and medical systems of backup aircraft.
• Complete required documentation and flight planning with exacting standards.
• Participate in meetings, projects, committees, and community outreach.
