Job summary

Air Methods Corporation is seeking an experienced aviation leader to manage daily operations for the base crew and ensure safety is the top priority in all activities. You will verify airworthiness of aircraft and weather conditions to transport medical crews and patients within the assigned area.

You will hold final authority on operations and coordinate with EMS hospitals, aviation staff, and specialty teams, while maintaining required credentials and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent with 2–5 years related experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Visual Flight Rules (VFR) knowledge is required for operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate Air Methods aircraft safely and legally.
• Complete pre-flight checks and sign Daily Flight Log.
• Maintain final authority on aircraft operations and safety.
• Familiarize staff with medical systems and interior layout.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• Plan flights with high attention to detail on short notice.
• Participate in outreach to hospitals and EMS systems.
• Provide input to Aviation staff evaluations as needed.
• Act as liaison to Aviation specialty team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
