Job summary

1st Precision Grading LLC in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an Operator/Foreman to lead grading projects and manage field crews. This hands-on role drives project progress, enforces plans, and delivers high-quality site work with a safety-first mindset.

You will read grading plans, supervise crews, and coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and inspectors to meet specifications and schedules. A CDL and GPS familiarity are a plus; strong leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience operating heavy grading or earthwork equipment.
• Foreman or crew lead experience in grading, excavation, or site development.
• Ability to read and interpret civil grading plans and blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of grade checking, drainage, and compaction standards.
• Valid driver\'s license; CDL a plus.
• Familiarity with GPS/machine control systems preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with a safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including graders, scrapers, excavators, and compactors on grading and site prep projects.
• Supervise and direct field crew members to ensure safe, efficient, and on-schedule project completion.
• Read and interpret grading plans, site maps, and construction documents.
• Monitor grade elevations and ensure work meets project specifications and tolerances.
• Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and inspectors on daily operations.
• Conduct pre-shift equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Enforce jobsite safety protocols and OSHA compliance standards.
