Job summary

Pape’ Kenworth in Anchorage, AK is seeking an Advanced Truck Technician / Mechanic for the swing shift to diagnose, repair, and maintain medium and heavy Class 7 & 8 trucks. You will lead by example, mentor peers, and ensure safety and quality in all tasks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with medium/heavy‑duty class 7/8 trucks, including engine repair, electronic troubleshooting, HVAC, and chassis repair.
• Proficiency with Cummins and MX diagnostic software preferred.
• Must provide own tools and work with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and customer relations skills.
• Lead by example with safety, quality, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain Class 7/8 trucks in swing shift.
• Mentor and support other technicians in the shop.
• Analyze mechanical and electronic malfunctions and determine repair strategies.
• Execute repairs or rebuilds on engines, transmissions, axles, steering, brakes.
• Ensure uptime and safe, correct truck operation.
