Job summary

University of California - Irvine Health seeks a Lead Custodian to supervise and train EVS staff, maintaining high cleanliness standards across assigned areas in a healthcare setting.

You will assist the EVS Manager with prioritizing daily work, monitoring supplies, and training staff on procedures, while covering rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays to ensure uninterrupted patient care and safety.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service orientation and customer service skills appropriate for the position level.
• Ability to work in various locations, as well as rotating shifts including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
• The ability to read, write and communicate in English
• Ability to perform the duties of an Custodian or Senior Custodian as outlined in the job descriptions
• Demonstrated advanced level custodial experience working in healthcare environment, with an understanding of necessary supplies and equipment.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within the work unit and across the Health System

Responsibilities

• Lead and train environmental services staff, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
• Assist with prioritizing daily work activities and supply levels.
• Monitor training and adherence to Closet Tip lists.
• Perform related housekeeping duties as assigned.
