Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or an associate’s in any subject with coursework equivalent to a major in Early Childhood Education.
• Two years of experience teaching Head Start, Early Head Start, pre-school or kindergarten age children.
• Completion of required state childcare training and Florida VPK-related coursework within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and implement daily lesson plans that meet federal performance standards.
• Create learning environments with distinct areas to promote engagement.
• Screen and assess children and develop individual education plans in line with standards.
• Monitor safety, meals, snacks, restrooms, and playground activities.
• Document progress and maintain required reports and forms.
• Coordinate with Health Coordinator on health concerns.
• Communicate with parents about progress and events through conferences and notes.
• Attend workshops to disseminate information to staff and families.
• Plan activities for parent and community volunteers.
• Plan field trips and arrange transportation for assigned children.
