Job summary

Lutheran Services Florida is seeking a Center Director to manage the day-to-day operations of a Head Start/Early Head Start center, oversee classrooms, staff, and partnerships with families and the community.

Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with federal performance standards, supervising education staff, conducting observations, and coordinating professional development. The role requires strong leadership and a commitment to early childhood education.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience teaching preschool or kindergarten plus two years of supervisory experience.
• Bilingual preferred: English/Spanish or English and other languages.
• Certification in CLASS, First Aid and CPR; background checks and licensing compliance within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of Head Start/Early Head Start Center and ensure compliance with federal standards.
• Supervise education staff and monitor performance using relevant rubrics.
• Coordinate staff development, assessments, and program quality initiatives.
