Job summary

SGS is seeking an experienced HDD Inspector to oversee construction activities for active HDD crossings in Rockingham County, NC and Pittsylvania County, VA. The successful candidate will monitor drilling operations, review logs, and ensure contractor compliance.

This position requires at least 10–15 years of pipeline inspection experience and a strong background in HDD inspection, particularly on large-diameter pipeline projects.

Schedule involves 12-hour shifts with per diem provided for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years of pipeline inspection experience preferred.
• Experience with 24"–42" HDD crossings preferred.
• Strong reporting and documentation skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide inspection oversight for two active HDD crossings.
• Monitor HDD construction activities including drilling operations and reporting.
• Review drilling logs and bore profiles.
