Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a skilled Hardware Repair Technician in San Diego to lead repair, warranty, service, and upgrades of hardware. You will diagnose and repair complex units, perform firmware updates, calibration, and testing, and coordinate with engineering for schematics and ECNs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or trade school training in Electrical/Robotics or related field.
• 5–7+ years in hardware repair, debugging, or defect analysis in electronics/systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and soldering skills.
• Proficient with testing equipment including multimeters and RF tests.
• Ability to read schematics and system diagrams; follow ECNs and test procedures.

Responsibilities

• Receive, log, and triage hardware returns and upgrade requests.
• Diagnose and repair subsystems (mechanical, electrical, firmware, RF).
• Perform firmware updates, calibration, and burn‑in testing after repair.
• Collaborate with engineering to obtain schematics and tolerances.
• Document repair steps and root causes; maintain repair logs.
