Job summary

Google is seeking a hardware engineer within the Platforms Infrastructure Engineering team to design and build systems powering its vast data centers and services. You will influence hardware quality from concept to high-volume manufacturing, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve reliability issues and drive improvements across fleets.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
6 years of experience working on hardware quality within a data center or IT environment.
3 years of experience in technical leadership.
Experience in data center and enterprise hardware (servers, storage, networking and AI systems), design processes and verification methodologies.

Responsibilities

Work directly with customers, data center teams and manufacturing teams to understand and analyze hardware quality issues.
Partner with internal hardware and software teams and external vendors to triage and root cause hardware reliability issues.
Lead systemic changes to drive continuous improvement in fleet analysis and triage of hardware issues to get to improve speed to resolution.
Represent the Fleet Hardware Reliability team within the broader platforms design, deployment and supply chain organizations.
