Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Hardware Engineer to drive the design and development of wireless sensors and gateways used across industrial environments. You’ll lead hardware engineering efforts from concept through production, collaborating with global partners to deliver robust, manufacturable, and supportable products. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative solutions that make a tangible impact on industries around the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of electronic hardware, including schematics, PCB layout, component selection, and prototyping.
  • Design ultra-low-power circuits for extended battery life in industrial applications.
  • Optimize RF performance in complex industrial environments.
  • Develop robust designs that operate reliably under extreme temperatures.
  • Implement efficient power management systems.
  • Oversee firmware updates and hardware integration for new devices.
  • Conduct hardware design using Cadence tools and simulation with SPICE and EMI/EMC analysis software.
  • Utilize advanced testing equipment such as spectrum and network analyzers and environmental chambers.
  • Leverage in-house prototyping tools including 3D printing and SMT assembly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (software, mechanical, manufacturing, QA) to define requirements and deliver integrated solutions.
  • Lead design reviews, validation testing, and regulatory compliance processes (e.g., FCC, CE, UL).
  • Establish accuracy specifications and calibration procedures for sensor measurements.
  • Manage project timelines and resources to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and components to enhance performance and reduce cost.
  • Maintain thorough technical documentation including design specs, test plans, and engineering reports.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in electronic hardware development.

Technical Skills

  • Expertise in digital and analog circuit design, signal integrity, and power systems.
  • Proficiency with EDA tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, or KiCAD.
  • Experience with embedded systems and microcontroller integration.
  • Familiarity with wireless technologies including BLE, LoRa, ZigBee, and Z-Wave.
  • Proficient in hardware testing tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of EMI/EMC principles and regulatory standards (FCC, CE, UL).
  • Experience with BLE stack development tools and libraries.
  • Deep knowledge of hardware interfaces and communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO).
  • Firmware development experience in C, preferably with Nordic tools.
