Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Lead Hardware Design Engineer with strong experience in mixed-signal hardware design, FPGA/microcontrollers, analog & digital electronics, PCB design, and safety-critical systems. The candidate will lead hardware development from architecture through production, working closely with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams.

Requirements include 10 years in hardware design, SI/PI analysis, SPICE simulations, EMI/EMC, and DFMEA.

Qualifications

• 10 years hardware design and development experience.
• Expert in analog and digital circuit design.
• Experience with FPGA, microprocessors, and microcontrollers.
• Hands-on with mixed-signal systems and sensor interfaces.
• Strong knowledge of power supplies, ADC/DAC, and filters.
• PCB design/review using Altium.
• Experience with SPI, I2C, CAN, UART, USB, Ethernet.
• SI/PI analysis and SPICE/PSPICE simulations.
• Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience with EMI/EMC, environmental testing, DFMEA, reliability analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware development from architecture through production.
• Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams.
• Provide debugging and root-cause analysis during integration.
• Ensure EMI/EMC and reliability considerations are addressed.
