Job summary

Chelsea Piers Field House in New York, NY seeks energetic coaches for weekend birthday parties and sports events. You will lead gymnastics-based activities, supervise safety, and create a fun, engaging atmosphere for children aged 2–13, working with lead and junior staff.

A flexible weekend schedule and passion for kids are essential. Two years coaching or instructing children and strong verbal communication are required; USAG certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children ages 2-13 and a flexible schedule.
• Two years of coaching/instructing/working with children in the 2–13 range.
• Gymnastics experience required; USAG certification is a plus.
• Excellent customer service, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate activities for kids and teens during weekend birthday parties.
• Lead gymnastics-based party activities, including tumbling and obstacles.
• Maintain a safe, engaging environment with staff presence.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm and encouragement to guests and staff.
• Remain positive and calm during events; additional shifts may be available.

Candidates should be passionate about working with children, have athletic experience and ability, and possess excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.Primary Responsibilities:Facilitate activities for kids and teens during weekend birthday partiesLead gymnastics-based party activities, including tumbling, obstacle courses, and skill stations suited to varying ability levelsMaintain a safe, engaging, and fun environment at all times, alongside lead and junior staffDemonstrate enthusiasm and encouragement to guests and staffRemain positive and calm during eventsAdditional weekday & weekend shifts for classes and youth & adult events will be availableThese responsibilities are not comprehensive and can change at any time at the supervisor's discretion.About You:You are punctual, dependable, and energetic. You have experience working with children ages 2-13 and have a flexible schedule.Ability to work at least five weekend days a month.A minimum of two years of experience coaching/instructing/working with children between the ages of 2-13 and/or young adults.Experience as a coach or participant in gymnastics (recreational, competitive, or artistic) is required; USAG certification is a plus.Excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.Ability to maintain a professional and courteous manner at all times.An outgoing, energetic personality and enjoy working in a team environment.This position is based at Chelsea Piers in New York, New YorkChelsea Piers is an Equal Opportunity Employer
