Job summary

Walton County GA Buildings & Grounds is seeking a Lead Grounds Keeper in Monroe, GA to oversee maintenance of all facility grounds under the Director of Facilities. You will supervise the groundskeeping team, operate mowing and landscaping equipment, and ensure tasks meet deadlines and instructions.

Responsibilities include preparing grounds for events, developing annual work plans, maintaining equipment, requisitioning supplies, and keeping records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Georgia driver's license.
• Minimum of 2 years of management experience.
• At least 3 years of grounds work experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare facility grounds for events (graduations, open houses, first day of school, sports events).
• Develop and maintain a schedule to meet required dates.
• Create an annual landscape maintenance plan (e.g., detention ponds).
• Collaborate with groundskeepers to enhance skills and extend equipment life.
• Maintain and repair landscape equipment.
• Requisition supplies and equipment through the logistics office.
• Supervise groundskeepers, including scheduling for mowing and maintenance.
• Prepare and maintain various records and reports.
• Operate equipment like mowers, tractors, trimmers, and other tools.
• Perform other duties to achieve project objectives indoors and outdoors.
• Communicate effectively and uphold high ethics; maintain confidentiality.
