Job summary

City of Dallas is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator - Sanitation to manage large landfill equipment and support daily operations for the city and its residents. The role requires operating machines such as motor graders, excavators, dozers, and dump trucks to move materials and maintain landfill infrastructure.

Qualified candidates will have at least 2 years on heavy equipment, a valid driver's license with a clean record, and the ability to work well in a team.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience operating heavy motorized equipment or off-road equipment used in excavation, construction, landfill, or waste collections (e.g. compactor, motor grader, bulldozer, excavator).
• One (1) year of experience in waste disposal operations will meet the experience requirement.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operates an off-road truck to haul, move, and spread dirt, mulch, crushed concrete, and other materials to their desired locations within the landfill.
• Handles additional heavy equipment when necessary to improve road services, spread garbage, build berms, sweep roads, and dig postholes.
• Performs any and all other trades work as needed or assigned.
