Job summary

Henderson Scott US is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on ground-up multifamily projects in New Jersey. The role focuses on coordinating multiple trades, maintaining schedules, and upholding safety and quality across complex developments.

The ideal candidate will oversee day-to-day site activities, interpret construction drawings, manage subcontractors, and collaborate with project teams to deliver projects on time and to spec.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent leading field operations.
• Experience with ground-up multifamily, high-rise residential, or large-scale residential construction preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, site logistics, and trade coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
• Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors and overseeing multiple trades; strong safety, quality control, and code understanding.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily field operations on ground-up multifamily and residential construction projects.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trade partners, vendors, and site personnel.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones are met.
• Review drawings, specs, and plans to ensure accurate execution.
• Coordinate material deliveries, inspections, site logistics, and trade sequencing.
• Maintain site safety standards and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Monitor workmanship and quality control throughout all construction phases.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, architects, engineers, and owners to resolve field issues.
• Identify scheduling conflicts and construction challenges, implementing proactive solutions.
• Conduct site meetings, maintain daily reports, and communicate progress to the project team.
