Job summary

NextEra Energy Marketing, LLC is seeking a lead grid modeling expert to set the vision for congestion analytics and to translate power system dynamics into strategic trading decisions.

You will own technical roadmaps, work with traders and executives, and drive data-driven capabilities from proof-of-concept to production. The role combines technical depth with strategic leadership in a fast-paced energy market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Applied Math, Physics, CS, or related.
• 7+ years of progressive ISO/RTO market modeling or congestion analytics experience.
• Deep expertise in DC/AC power flow, contingency analysis, and market settlement mechanics.
• Proficiency with industry tools and strong programming skills (Python, SQL).
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and influence senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own and advance DC/AC power flow and contingency models for PJM, ERCOT and other ISO/RTOs.
• Model and forecast flowgates, interface constraints, thermal and voltage limits impacting DA/RT and FTR/CRR/ARR outcomes.
• Build, calibrate, validate, and back-test market simulation engines that replicate ISO dispatch and pricing.
• Monitor topology changes, outages, interconnections, and load growth trends.
• Translate tariffs, FERC regulations, and market rules into modeling assumptions and logic.
• Design and govern automated, production-grade data pipelines integrating grid, market, weather and asset data.
