Woodlands Market in Marin County seeks a Food Service Manager who reports to the Store Manager and leads the Deli, Cheese, and Bakery/Coffee counters. This hands-on leadership role combines operational oversight with financial accountability to drive sales and margin.

You'll manage the master schedule, develop a cross-trained team, ensure quality and food safety, and mentor staff while working on the floor during peak hours.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of specialty foods, including cheese production/handling, deli workflow, and coffee/bakery service.
• Strong personnel management and conflict-resolution skills.
• Financial acumen, including basic understanding of P&L, margins, and labor percentages.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm and organized during peak volume.
• Comfort using POS systems, scales, and inventory software.

Responsabilités

• Oversee daily operations, sales, and profitability for deli, cheese, and bakery/coffee.
• Drive weekly/monthly promotions and implement major departmental changes or resets.
• Write and manage the master department schedule based on sales, demand, and labor targets.
• Oversee hiring, performance evaluations, and team development.
• Manage high-level vendor relations, negotiate pricing, and oversee inventory and ordering.
• Maintain high standards for product quality, merchandising, and PLU management.
• Hands-on work on the floor during peak hours to support the team and maintain speed of service.
• Ensure sanitation, food handling, and regulatory compliance.
