Job summary

Troon's Glenview Golf Course in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a full-time Lead Equipment Technician - Golf Course to maintain and repair turf equipment, lead four other mechanics, and ensure pristine playing conditions.

The role includes preventive maintenance, reel grinding, sharpening, and coordinating parts, with a company vehicle provided for travel among properties. Candidates should be dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of mentoring the team to deliver high-quality course maintenance.

Qualifications

• Maintains a preventive maintenance program on all equipment.
• Inspects, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical defects in golf course maintenance equipment.
• Performs reel grinding, bedknife sharpening, and mower adjustments.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a preventive maintenance program on all equipment.
• Inspects, adjusts, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical defects in many types of golf course maintenance equipment.
• Performs reel grinding (both spin and relief grinding), bedknife sharpening, and mower adjustments for optimal height-of-cut and quality-of-cut standards.
• Performs mower grinding and sharpening, general overhaul of motors and reels, and installs and adjusts braking systems.
• Performs machining or welding work in making fittings used in the repair of maintenance equipment.
• Manages expenses in the maintenance of the equipment fleet relating to parts purchases, inventory levels, service work, fuel inventories, and related items.
• Ensures accurate records are kept of preventive maintenance, repairs made, and parts ordered.
• Maintains an up-to-date working knowledge of light and heavy construction and maintenance equipment and automotive apparatus.
• Maintains skills in the use of a wide variety of equipment repair tools and in the making of various types of mechanical repairs.
• Diagnoses mechanical troubles and schedules appropriate preventive maintenance work.
• Works closely with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents to support daily course setup.
• Organizes and maintains a clean and safe maintenance area.
