Job summary

American Golf Corporation is seeking a Golf Course Superintendent to lead the maintenance and improvement of our golf course, ensuring optimal playability and environmental compliance. You will supervise the greens, fairways, bunkers, and irrigation while coordinating with the operations team and managing the annual maintenance plan.

Responsibilities include budgeting, staffing, safety training, and record-keeping for labor and chemical use.

Qualifications

• State pesticide license required.
• GCSAA Certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Two-year degree required (four-year degree preferred) in turf management, agronomy, chemical applications, soils, fertilization, or related field.
• Three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the golf course in proper playing condition according to company standards.
• Supervise course construction projects and oversee planting and care of turf, plants, shrubs, and trees.
• Develop and propose the annual maintenance plan and budget; implement and adhere to the approved plan.
• Direct and supervise maintenance of greens, fairways, tees, sand traps, water features, roughs, maintenance shop and grounds, cart maintenance, and clubhouse maintenance.
• Lead a high-performance team while maintaining a positive, safe, and productive work environment.
• Recruit, train, develop, and manage staff; ensure co-worker satisfaction and adherence to company policies.
• Address safety concerns immediately.
• Conduct monthly safety meetings and training; record attendance and complete safety audits.
• Establish and implement maintenance programs for equipment, tools, vehicles, and related assets.
• Manage purchase ordering, receiving, and inventory; maintain records for labor costs and maintenance expenses.
• Plan staffing schedules to ensure quality and service standards.
