Job summary

XL Parts / The Parts House is seeking an Accountant III – General Ledger to maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting principles. The role will help improve processes and serve as the audit contact.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of accounting experience, CPA preferred, and hands-on with ERP systems such as Epicor, SAP or Oracle, plus strong Excel skills. We offer comprehensive benefits and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• 5–7 years of accounting experience.
• Experience with financial close software (Blackline or Floqast) preferred.
• Effective communicator with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Attention to detail, adaptable in dynamic environments.
• Experience with accounting systems (Epicor, SAP, Oracle).
• Excellent MS 365 skills, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile monthly payroll reports to the GL and prepare month-end accruals.
• Maintain prepaid items subledger and amortize the expense accordingly.
• Prepare allowance for bad debt calculation and the corresponding journal entries.
• Prepare monthly allocation entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with year-end closing process and drafting of financial statements, including roll-forwards and footnotes.
• Handle all sales tax filings and the corresponding journal entries.
• Assist with external and internal audits.
• Document accounting processes and procedures.
• Assist with budget/forecast, insurance renewals and tax filings.

Job description

The Accountant III – General Ledger is a critical role responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records while ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies. This role will expected to help with improving accounting processes, including the use of the ERP system and will be the point of contact for the audit team during the annual financial audit.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Reconcile monthly payroll reports to the GL and prepare month-end accruals
• Maintain prepaid items subledger and amortize the expense accordingly
• Prepare allowance for bad debt calculation and the corresponding journal entries
• Prepare monthly allocation entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with year-end closing process and drafting of financial statements, including roll-forwards and footnotes related to intangible assets and intercompany transactions.
• Handle all sales tax filings and the corresponding journal entries
• Assist with external and internal audits
• Document accounting processes and procedures
• Assist with budget/forecast, insurance renewals and tax filings

Environmental/Occupational Health and Physical Requirements:

Typical 9-hour day to include reaching, standing, walking, kneeling, lifting and carrying. To perform the duties of this job the employee must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment. The heavy lifting of 50lbs or more may be required. Employee also share the responsibility to perform routine housekeeping activities such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, restroom cleaning and changing trash can liners.
