Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) Lead Electrical Engineer to join its Grid Group. You will lead GIS projects, act as SME for gas-insulated substations, and guide a team through design, specifications, and deliverables.

Participation in industry standards is expected, with opportunities to travel. The role offers a hybrid work setup (three days in the office, two remote) and a generous relocation package based on location.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BSEE degree is required.
• 10+ years in physical layout and design of GIS and AIS.
• Knowledge of design techniques and 3D modeling for technical plans.
• Ability to relate equipment to a technical design and apply engineering science.
• Strong prioritization and multi-project management under constraints.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Experience reviewing design drawings.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead GIS projects and act as Subject Matter Expert for GIS.
• Prepare specifications, reports and delivery documents.
• Guide and mentor junior and senior engineers and designers.
• Contribute to project conceptualization, planning and execution.
• Participate in industry standards committees and travel as needed.
