Job summary

Historic Tours of America in St. Augustine seeks a Lead Evening Tour Guide to welcome guests, supervise staff, and help deliver our Ghosts & Gravestones tours. You will assist with research, script writing, and costuming to keep tours engaging.

This role requires leadership, reliability, and the ability to motivate a team. Candidates should be comfortable performing as a Ghost Host or ghost tour driver when needed, and must pass background checks and a DOT medical exam.

Qualifications

• Ability to motivate, develop, and direct people.
• Clear English communication (written and spoken).
• Ability to read, analyze information and make timely decisions.
• Memorize scripted story and stage directions for performances.
• Must pass pre-employment MVR/background check and substance screening.
• Valid DOT physical required.

Responsibilities

• Research and create route changes for the nightly tour.
• Coordinate with managers to schedule tours across departments.
• Assist the Manager in supervising staff, scheduling, hiring, training, and reviews.
• Maintain order while guiding crowds through venues.
• Address and resolve guest issues.
• Develop historical characters and approve costumes/props for accuracy.
• Perform as Ghost Host or Ghost Tour Driver when required.
