Job summary

Leidos in Reston, Virginia is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Analysis Solutions Group to support national security missions through geologic and geotechnical analysis of underground, hardened, and complex infrastructure.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, applying geology, geotechnical engineering, geomechanics, and subsurface characterization to develop innovative methodologies, models, and technologies for identifying and assessing geotechnical conditions in difficult

Qualifications

Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Mining Eng., Geotechnical Eng., or related.
12+ years of relevant experience, or master's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.
Geomechanics, Geotechnical engineering, Field geophysics, Computer modeling and simulation, Tunnel and slope stability analysis, Rock mass characterization.
Proficiency with PLAXIS, SLOPE/W, Slide, LPILE, gINT; GIS tools including ArcGIS Pro/Enterprise; MATLAB.
Experience conducting geotechnical investigations and field data collection; drilling operations knowledge.
Strong written and verbal communication; ability to brief senior officials; cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Ability to apply advanced scientific and engineering principles across complex programs.

Responsibilities

Lead senior-level geotechnical engineering activities and provide expert analysis.
Conduct advanced geotechnical assessments using diverse data sources to characterize sites and facilities.
Analyze soil, rock, and geologic conditions for underground and hardened infrastructure.
Utilize GIS and geospatial data to document site geology and conditions.
Develop technical assessments, reports, and briefings communicating findings and risks.
Support development of innovative technologies and methodologies for geotechnical analysis.
Plan and execute field investigations and data collection in US and international sites.
Lead development of new analytical approaches and operational solutions for mission capabilities.
Brief senior government officials and stakeholders on trends and findings.
