Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for a prominent engineering client in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. Lead geotechnical investigations, interpret data, and develop practical design recommendations for mining infrastructure and civil projects.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage projects, liaise with clients, and ensure compliance with SANS standards. A master's degree and Pr. Eng. registration with ECSA are required, with 8+ years of geotechnical experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in geotechnical or civil engineering with specialization.
• 8+ years of relevant geotechnical experience in mining infrastructure and civil projects.
• Professional registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) with ECSA is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and execute geotechnical site investigations (drilling, CPT, geophysical surveys).
• Perform advanced analyses (slope stability, seepage, bearing capacity, settlement).
• Design shallow/deep foundations, retaining structures, and earthworks; prepare reports.
