Job summary

WSP USA in Georgia seeks a Lead Geotechnical Engineer to lead engineering projects, manage scope, schedule, and budget; oversee field investigations and analyses; collaborate with clients and teams across projects.

Candidates should have 7–10 years in geotechnical engineering, strong foundation and soil mechanics knowledge, and PM experience; travel to sites may be required, with potential remote work options.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of geotechnical engineering experience, with at least 3 years in project management.
• Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, site characterization, and lab testing.
• Experience with infrastructure, transportation, or commercial development projects.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects from inception to completion.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
• Prepare investigation plans, lab testing programs, and analyses.
• Oversee field investigations, site assessments, and construction monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and regulations.
• Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations.
• Monitor progress, manage risks, and implement corrective actions.
• Mentor junior staff and project engineers.
• Travel to project sites as required.
