Job summary

Natural England is seeking a senior GIS data lead to drive the Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) geospatial program. You will manage the national LNRS map, coordinate data from Responsible Authorities, and engage with Defra and partners to ensure data integrity and timely delivery.

You will lead data & licensing workstreams, develop GIS tools for sharing LNRS data, and report progress to senior officers. Strong project management and stakeholder liaison are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Strong geospatial data science knowledge and experience.
• Experience leading GIS projects and stakeholder engagement.
• Familiarity with data licensing and data management procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead the LNRS map development and maintenance for the national dataset.
• Coordinate data collation from Responsible Authorities and ensure data quality.
• Engage with stakeholders across NE, Defra, Environment Agency and other partners.
• Oversee data sharing tools and dissemination of LNRS geospatial data within Defra groups and externally.
• Provide progress reporting and project management for LNRS data deliveries.
