Job summary

NYS Institute for Basic Research (IBR) George A Jervis Clinic and Specialty Clinical Laboratories) seeks a Scientist/ Geneticist to lead clinical genetic testing development and supervision. You will oversee preanalytical to post-analytical processes, ensuring QC, calibration, and regulatory compliance while collaborating with clinicians and the molecular diagnostics team.

Applicants should hold MD or PhD with 6+ years of clinical/research experience and be eligible for the Laboratory Director

Qualifications

• MD or PhD with at least six years of clinical/research experience.
• Must have or be eligible to apply for a Certificate of Qualification to act as Laboratory Director in Genetic Testing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and implement all aspects of clinical genetic testing across preanalytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases.
• Oversee training, quality control, calibration, and validation procedures.
• Coordinate with clinicians and SCL molecular diagnostic team to develop protocols and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Supervise multiple projects and staff through all research stages; ensure records and documentation meet regulatory requirements.
