Job summary

The Institute for Basic Research in Developmental Disabilities (IBR), the research arm of NYS OPWDD, seeks a Geneticist (MD) for the Jervis Diagnostic and Research out-patient clinic on Staten Island. The role involves clinical evaluations with a multidisciplinary team and collaboration with various specialists, including a Genetic Counselor, psychiatrists, psychologists, and nursing staff.

On-site genetic testing is available, and there is a mission to build a Genomics Core Facility funded by

Qualifications

• Possession of a license to practice medicine in New York State.
• Certification by a Member Board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).
• Maintain eligibility for Medicare/Medicaid billing where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate children and adults in the Jervis Clinic.
• Collaborate on-site and remotely with pediatric and adult specialists.
• Support on-site diagnostic testing for Fragile X Syndrome.
• Contribute to development of genomics core facility.

Education

Medical Degree (MD)

Board certification in a medical specialty (ABMS)

New York State medical license
