NYS Institute for Basic Research (IBR) George A Jervis Clinic and Specialty Clinical Laboratories (SCL) seeks a Researcher Scientist 6/Geneticist to lead development of new diagnostic genetic testing protocols for developmental disabilities, supervise the molecular diagnostics team, and ensure QA/QC in accordance with NYS DOH and SCL procedures.

Qualifikationen

• MD or PhD in genetics or related field.
• Candidate must be eligible for Laboratory Director certification in Genetic Testing.
• Six+ years of clinical/research experience in genetics.

Aufgaben

• Oversee all aspects of clinical genetic testing from preanalytical to post-analytical phases.
• Supervise personnel involved in accessioning and data entry of samples.
• Perform DNA/RNA extractions and molecular techniques (PCR, sequencing).
• Ensure compliance with NYS DOH and SCL quality systems and SOPs.
• Collaborate with clinicians and researchers; contribute to publications and grant efforts.
