Job summary

Generac is seeking a Senior Generator Tester to perform advanced system testing, diagnose complex product issues, and support new product introductions. The role partners with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Production to ensure testing excellence and reliable product flow.

The ideal candidate will lead and mentor testers, uphold safety and quality standards, and drive continuous improvement across all product lines within the Test area.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree in automation, electro-mechanical, electrical technology or related field preferred.
• 4+ years of product testing, troubleshooting, electrical diagnostics, or related manufacturing experience.
• Experience training and mentoring employees in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting new product introductions, process improvements, or engineering initiatives preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safety & Quality: Comply with safety, quality, and environmental policies; 5S; maintain a clean workspace; obtain and maintain required certifications.
• Testing & Troubleshooting: Test products per instructions; interpret schematics and diagrams; troubleshoot complex issues; perform root cause analysis.
• Technical Leadership: Act as a testing expert; collaborate with Engineering to improve testing procedures; support new product introductions.
• Training & Mentorship: Train Tester I–III; develop training materials and testing documentation.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in CI, DTZ, and NPI; drive improvements in safety, quality, productivity, and lead times.
• Operational Support: Monitor test cycle times and product flow; assist leadership and cross-functional teams.
