The University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Dentistry is seeking a full-time, non-tenure clinical faculty member in the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry. The role emphasizes teaching, mentoring the next generation of dentists, and ongoing growth in academic dentistry.

Based in the Division of General Practice, the position follows a 40-hour week with clinic hours Monday–Friday and occasional evenings, balancing education, patient care, and academic operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of clinical practice in a comprehensive general dentistry setting.
• DMD or DDS from CODA-accredited institution or foreign equivalent.
• Eligibility for a teaching dental license in Maryland.
• Solid hands-on experience in treatment planning, restorative dentistry, single-unit indirect restorations, and referrals.

Responsibilities

• Teaching in the predoctoral dental clinic, supervising students providing patient care.
• Mentoring assigned students on academic and clinical progress throughout the clinical curriculum.
• Managing patient care with students within their group practice.
• Track student progress and collaborate with academic affairs on student deficiencies.
• Teach and direct predoctoral courses tied to the department, including treatment planning and diagnostic sciences.
• Assist staff and faculty in training adjunct faculty to achieve clinical calibration.
• Support quality assurance, compliance, and improvement efforts with leadership.
• Respond to operational needs and special assignments from the Chair.
• Contribute as a genuine team member in identifying problems and solutions.
