Job summary

Arizona State University’s Tempe campus seeks a Skilled Crafts and Trade Assistant 3 Non-Exempt to lead general maintenance tasks in a facilities setting. The role supports installation, modification, and repair of building systems, coordinating activities with other trades staff.

The position emphasizes hands-on maintenance across electrical, plumbing, carpentry and related areas, with duties extending to other campus locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and three years experience in related area OR equivalent combination of experience/training.
• Lead trades experience in institutional, commercial/industrial maintenance.
• Willingness to work at multiple campus locations and coordinate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Electrical maintenance and repair for 120/277V systems; lighting, ballasts, switches, receptacles, diffusers.
• Plumbing maintenance and repair for labs, restrooms, kitchens.
• Carpentry maintenance; door hardware, flooring, ceilings and drywall touch-ups.
• Operate hand and power tools; document daily logs with electronic systems.
• Respond to elevator trouble calls and basic troubleshooting.
