Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to advance Generative AI projects, building assistants, agents, and GenAI tooling within Cat Digital.

You will develop and deploy Gen AI solutions using Python, FastAPI, GitHub Actions and AWS, collaborating with data scientists to scale analytics pipelines and deliver robust ML workflows.

This role offers multiple U.S. office options (Chicago, Peoria, Broomfield, Irving) and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering GenAI solutions and AI-powered applications.
• Proficiency in Python and OOP design patterns.
• Ability to collaborate with data scientists on production-ready ML pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy Gen AI solutions utilizing Python and OOP principles.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Deploy solutions on AWS using CloudFormation.
• Work with LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, and Crew.ai.
• Apply knowledge of LLMs and Prompt Engineering concepts.
• Develop and deploy services using FastAPI on AWS.
• Collaborate with data scientists to refactor analytics solutions for production.
• Assist in building ML pipelines with Apache Airflow.
