Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Gen AI Delivery lead within Cat Digital to bring world-class GenAI capabilities to products and services. You will develop, tune, and evaluate models, while researching cutting-edge AI techniques and mentoring junior data scientists.

Qualifications

Graduate degree in a quantitative field is strongly preferred.
Proven ability to lead and mentor data science teams and guide research.
Experience with Generative AI and LLMs, including evaluation with automated and HITL methods.
Strong Python skills and experience with deep learning frameworks for rapid prototyping.
Ability to elicit and translate business needs into AI solutions with safety guardrails.

Responsibilities

Model development: fine-tuning, implementing, and optimizing generative AI models.
Algorithm research: stay updated on AI advances and integrate into projects.
Experimentation: design tests and iterate based on results.
Research and implementation of agentic GenAI solutions.
Training and mentorship for junior data scientists and team members.
