Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking a Lead Gate Attendant/Scale Operator to monitor and record waste volumes at the scale house and collect appropriate fees from customers.

You will coordinate with the Operations Clerk, Supervisor, and Manager to ensure daily activities run smoothly and that all work complies with company policy and applicable regulations. You will balance daily receipts, process payments, and help maintain a clean, organized scale house while supporting safety and efficiency

Qualifications

• Time management to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
• Strong communication to share operating issues with management.
• Ability to follow through on challenges and complete tasks on schedule.
• Adherence to company policies and safety standards.
• Experience handling cash and balancing receipts.
• Experience with computers and various software programs.
• Previous experience in the waste services industry.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily gate/scale operations and ensure accurate recording of waste volumes.
• Coordinate with Operations Clerk, Supervisor and Manager to align daily activities.
• Perform weekly radiation testing where applicable and ensure inspections are completed.
• Balance daily receipts and deposit funds as required.
• Inspect loads and determine content to properly bill customers.
• Ensure scale house is clean and stocked for each shift.
