Job summary

Transdev in DeKalb, IL is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician A (III) to diagnose, repair, and maintain gasoline and diesel engines across a variety of vehicles and equipment. As a Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our gas and diesel powered assets.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years of experience as a Mechanic.
• ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided.
• Mechanic’s Tool Set
• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine necessary repairs on engines.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and accurate repairs.
• Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
• Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for gas and diesel engines.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on gas engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.
• Other duties as required.
