Job summary

North Carolina Courts seeks a Guardian ad Litem (GAL) Supervisor to oversee case management for abuse, neglect, and dependency matters. You will recruit, train, and supervise child advocate volunteers, and may directly serve child clients when needed. Travel within the district and to other placements is required.

The role is stationed in Davidson County with required travel to Davie County and across the state. Strong leadership and public speaking skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or management, public administration, criminal justice, prelaw, or human services field plus one year of experience.
• Management prefers candidates with strong skills in management, organization, technology, data management and analysis, and case management.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate training for prospective child advocate volunteers (GALs).
• Review juvenile petitions and assign cases to guardians ad litem.
• Triage cases without volunteers by investigating issues and interviewing relevant people.
• Manage appointment and release orders for volunteers, staff, and the program.
• Coordinate court docket with juvenile clerks and attorneys.
