Job summary

The Judge Group is seeking a Functional Safety Engineer to lead machine risk management efforts across manufacturing processes, collaborating with internal teams and external clients to ensure safe and efficient operations. Key responsibilities include leading the site's machine safety program, conducting risk assessments, implementing safeguarding, and managing projects from design through commissioning.

Travel up to 15% per year is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field is required.
• CMSE, TÜV or equivalent Machinery/Functional Safety certification.
• Minimum 5+ years in manufacturing, automation, or machine safety.
• Experience leading risk assessments, mitigation programs, and capital projects.
• Strong knowledge of machine safeguarding and applicable safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and enhance the site's machine safety program, ensuring regulatory and company compliance.
• Conduct machine risk assessments and implement safeguarding and risk-reduction solutions.
• Manage safety-related projects from design through commissioning and validation.
• Monitor program performance via audits, metrics, and corrective actions.
• Serve as the site's technical expert for machine safety and control systems.
• Review risk assessments and safety documents for approval.
• Support incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, reliability, productivity, and efficiency.
