Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive architecture and deliver impactful, scalable software solutions. You will guide multiple teams across departments, focusing on cloud-native microservices, data processing systems, and AI-enabled opportunities.

You will mentor others, pair program, and champion ongoing learning while delivering high-quality software across US and APAC regions.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Strong background in design patterns, cloud-native microservices, and engineering best practices.
• Proficient in Java, Python, Spring Boot, and Oracle, with Maven experience.
• Experience collaborating with data scientists, product managers, and stakeholders to identify AI-driven opportunities.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS (EMR, OpenSearch, Bedrock, EKS, ECS).
• Experience with Databricks data platforms and AI/ML solutions (Claude, DBx Vector).
• Relational databases (Postgres, Oracle, Aurora).
• Unit testing with JUnit/Mockito; OpenSearch or Elasticsearch for search/analytics.
• AI/ML frameworks, Vector DB, LLMs, and cloud AI services (SageMaker, Azure ML).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead technology implementations for modernization and integration of applications into in-house strategic builds.
• Deliver scalable technical solutions across multiple businesses and domains.
• Influence peer leaders and stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams.
• Contribute to high-volume, high-resilience data processing system designs.
• Collaborate with a global tech org across US and APAC for end-to-end delivery.
• Ensure adherence to standards and continuous delivery improvements.
• Use simple design and pragmatic techniques to maximize business value.
• Pair program with team members to build high-quality solutions.
• Demonstrate passion for technology and ongoing learning; adopt new practices.
• Mentor junior team members to grow technically and professionally.
