Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer within the Infrastructure Platform. You will guide agile teams to build trusted, scalable technology products, driving architectural decisions and technical leadership across Java full-stack development, React front-end, and cloud-native solutions.

You will mentor engineers, shape SDLC practices, and help implement SOLID patterns and microservices while leveraging AI-assisted coding tools to improve quality and productivity.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of Java full-stack development with 3+ yrs of proven track record of technical leadership.
• Expert-level proficiency in RESTful API design and implementation Java 11+, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Hibernate/JPA.
• Strong front-end development skills in React and solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and DevOps practices, Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools (JIRA, Confluence).
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean code practices, microservices architecture and distributed systems
• Proficiency in AI-assisted coding using tools such as GitHub Copilot, or similar AI pair-programming assistants and Ability to evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated code for quality, security, and performance
• Strong prompt engineering skills with the ability to craft effective prompts for Large Language Models (LLMs) to generate accurate, efficient, and secure code
• Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate development workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance team productivity.

Responsibilities

• Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
• Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
• Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
• Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
• Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
