Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in Jersey City to drive the design, development, and deployment of secure, scalable software products within Digital Post Trade Technology.

You will be a core technical contributor across multiple domains, shaping architecture and engineering practices. You will mentor teams, lead AI-assisted development initiatives, and ensure high quality code with automated testing, security, and resiliency baked in.

Qualifications

• Formal degree or certification in software engineering with 5+ years of applied experience.
• Experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced in developing Java on Spring Boot, and UI knowledge (Angular/React).
• Strong knowledge of Kafka and NoSQL databases (Cassandra/MongoDB).
• Understanding of CI/CD, application resiliency, and security practices.
• Experience coaching teams in using AI-assisted development tools with proper validation.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine approaches to build solutions.
• Develops secure high-quality production code and reviews/debugs code written by others.
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve stability.
• Leads evaluation sessions with vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and applicability.
• Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote new technologies.
• Contributes to a culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect.
• Drives adoption of enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed with proper validation standards.
• Applies SDLC tooling knowledge to improve automation and outcomes.
